August 26, 1920, marks the passage of the 19th Amendment guaranteeing the right to vote to U.S. citizens regardless of sex - after 42 years of hard work and dedication by a number of women. Almost 90 years later, there is not a Federal holiday in the United States honoring a woman.
But we can change that.
Visit http://www.PetitionOnline.com/August26/ where there is a petition requesting U.S. Congress to make August 26 a Federal holiday honoring women. Please read. And if you agree with what it says, add your signature. (Signatures are NOT available for public viewing!)
